Grammy winner Dom Flemons is the "American Songster," pulling from old-time folk music to create new sounds. During the past few years he has been heard by millions as part of his trio, the Carolina Chocolate Drops. He plays banjo, guitar, harmonica, fife, bones, bass drum, snare drum and quills, in addition to singing. With a background in slam poetry and a wealth of concert experience, Dom is a confident, friendly entertainer who has enticed countless listeners to explore traditional American music.
In 2016 Dom released Ever Popular Favourites with British Guitar player, Martin Simpson. He's poised to release another album through Smithsonian Folkways that celebrates the stories and songs of the black cowboys.
