Event
On The Front Lines of Edible Education at Summerfield Waldorf School and Farm
Join Nikki Henderson in conversation with Michael Dimock.
As the recent election clarified, we live in a multicultural world where privileged America will no longer exclusively control the policies that shape our lives. This monumental shift in power has implications for the food system. Nikki Henderson, Executive Director of People's Grocery, is among the finest emerging leaders of the nascent food movement in America. She exemplifies those who will shape future food policy and practice. Her story of development as a leader -- her challenges and triumphs, as one who works in West Oakland, to overcome the food and economic injustice that hobbles her community, is both inspiring and instructive. Her story helps illuminate what is to come for food and farming. Nikki will be in conversation with Michael R. Dimock, President of Roots of Change, a veteran leader in the effort to re-frame and reform the food system.
This is a free event, donations are welcome.
