Bass Ritual - DetroitDubstep's 5 Year Anniversary Party
Come celebrate the busiest bar night of the year and DetroitDubstep.com's 5 year Anniversary party at the Majestic Theater. We decided to bring back some of Detroit's favorite heavyweight DJ's for this special event.
J RABBIT - Los Angeles, California Orange County's own Jeff Trunick, aka J. Rabbit, has come a long way from being the local resident DJ in Long Beach, California prior to moving to Bronx, NY years ago. J. Rabbit has been playing parties and making a name for himself learning to produce music with the aid of Terravita/Hot Pink Delorean's, Matt Simmers. His first remix was "B.Rich feat. Reese - Make Me Dance (J.Rabbit Remix)" on Party Like Us Records. Shortly after this, his first EP "I'm So Happy" was released on Reid Speed's label "Play Me Records", Party Like Us Records, & with Hot Pink Delorean's label "Delorean Music Company". He then made waves with his hit "Sexy Party" which he collaborated with Tremourz on and was released on Play Me as well.
J. Rabbit also now has the official remix of Benny Bennasi's famous club hit "Satisfaction", and recently finished a remix for metal outfit Korn. He also has releases with Dim Mak Records, Ministry of Sound, Always Never, Badman Press, Trillbass, Simplify Recordings. With remixes for Benny Benassi, Korn, Asking Alexandria, Le Castle Vania, B. Rich, Ali Love, Terravita, Hot Pink Delorean, Evol Intent, Virus Syndicate, Oh Snap!, and Repeat Offenders in the can, he is just getting ready to unleash more of his fun yet seriously megasonic devastation. Now once again residing in beautiful Southern California, he is quickly on the rise as becoming one of the biggest names in US Dubstep. J. Rabbit makes waves wherever he goes with his top of the line mixing skills, unique producing and good personality. J. Rabbit is a true DJ and producer, and continues breaking boundaries with his eclectic production.
SKULLTRANE San Francisco, California Proudly hailing from Detroit, now residing in San Francisco. Since 2007 the Bay Area is toying with disaster by laying on a huge fault line with talent such as SKULLTRANE. Producing her original jawdropping beats with releases on MalLabel Music, Daly City Records and Badman Press. She has remixed and collaborated with quite a few of the more notable bass heavy producers Mochipet, MC Zulu, Blackheart, 6 Blocc, Taso, DZ, Roommate, Mr. Boogie & Helicopter Showdown to name a few.
Live, Skulltrane's legendary explosive, mind bending, multi-genre mayhem inducing live sets have led her to perform next to such legendary acts as E-40, Datsik, Reso, Nadastrom, DJ Assault, Liquid Stranger, Vaski, Starkey, Zion-i, Nasty Nasty, Stagga & Downlink.
Her musical influences for the most part draw from her roots in Detroit's now infamous '90's Techno and Hip-Hop scene which she has seamlessly incorporated these inspirational elements into her own production and live performances. Fast mixing, dramatic tempo changes and massive baselines drops to your dome Skulltrane will never leave a booty un-bounced.
BOLD EQUATION Chatham, Canada Canada's Bold Equation blasted onto the scene in early 2011 with his tearing bootleg remix of The Prodigy's classic Out of Space. In the following year he released 2 EPs and a number of singles & remixeson half a dozen labels from the US, Canada and UK. Following in the footsteps of Canada's dubstep pioneers he continues to push the limits with innovative sound design and scorching basslines. His recently released album Momentum breaks through genre barriers and firmly cements him as an artist to watch out for in the world of heavy bass music.
