Mother's Day Concert: NY Women Singing for Suffrage

We are proud to celebrate Mothers Day with a very special concert of songs from the Womens Suffrage Movement. During the intense struggle between 1848 and 1920 for the right of women to vote, songs gave women a voice at a time when they were not able to speak in public. With little financial and political power, women printed banners, postcards, buttons, marched in parades, stood in silence, and sang to gain the 19th amendment to the Constitution known as the Susan B. Anthony amendment. This concert is produced by Old Songs, Inc. and features Peggy Lynn, Annie Rosen, Toby Stover and Susan Trump reprising the strong and persuasive voices of our feminist forebears determined to make a difference in the America of the future. A question and answer session will follow the performance.
