Roughly Hamlet
Micah Watterson is back as Hamlet in this one-man exploration in to an over-thinker's psyche. And this time we're at Fringe!!!
Roughly Hamlet has been seen in LA twice already, and also had it's East Coast premiere in Virginia.
In recent years, the character of Hamlet has become a right of passage for actors in their thirties, in the way Romeo or the Midsummer Lovers are for actors in their 20s or Lear is for an actor in his 60s. But for us, Hamlet is younger than that. A recently bereaved, well-educated young man who is still trying to understand his place in the world, and whose intellect but insecurities makes him incapable of making a single decision.
Hamlet spends the entire play in his own head, constantly over-thinking everything. A one-man play gives us a deeper insight in to that psyche with nothing to distract us.
This is one mans struggle with life.
