Addressing Racial and Social Justice In Our Community (MCLE and Lunch)
The Butte County Bar Association is very proud to invite you to the first of many offerings for the Butte County region from the newly created Racial and Social Justice Committee of the BCBA. In keeping with our mission to be ever vigilant in upholding diversity, social justice, and equality, we have invited representatives from the San Francisco Public Defenders Office to provide insight into the ways in which racial and social injustice can manifest, and how it can be challenged.
The primary emphasis in this particular training is the criminal justice system. However, this information is valuable for all community members who wish to see Chico continue to be a justice oriented community. As stated above, this is the first of many offerings which will tackle the challenges posed by racial and social inequity.
Date: March 31, 2017 Time: 12 p.m.- 2 p.m. Location: Butte Creek County Club Cost: $25 for lawyers (includes lunch at 1.5 hours of MCLE credit for Elimination of Bias) $10 for students (includes lunch) Fee waivers are available upon request.
Please R.S.V.P. by March 24, 2017.
