One night only this touching play is written and performed by Ms. Peña. It is a personal story of adventure, adversity and divine guidance. Musical performance by Sarah Flannery.
René Peña, a native of New Mexico, started acting at the University of New Mexico where she earned a Theater Arts Scholarship. She has performed in several dinner theater productions, toured America as one of Cinderella's nasty step-sisters, appeared at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., and entertained audiences in Germany and Italy where she won a Best Supporting Actress award for her performance in The Diary of Anne Frank. René filmed in the Oval Office alongside President Clinton and John Ritter in a Lifetime movie A Child's Wish. She has a recurring role as Gladys the Social Worker on ABC's hit show Private Practice and some of her other credits include Southland, Dexter, Parks and Recreation, Young and the Restless and Secret Life of the Am Teen. She has also appeared in numerous national commercials including Cheerios, Home Depot and J.C. Penny. Some of her print ads have been spotted in magazines, on billboards and even on Yahoo's homepage.
