The Journey is the Destination is the remarkable true story of the life of Dan Eldon, a young photographer, artist and avid adventurer. By the age of 22, he had traveled to more than 40 countries, written a book, worked in refugee camps, opened a business, fallen in love  and accumulated more life experience than most in a lifetime. Inspiring and irreverent, the film tells the story of a young man coming of age to realize his purpose, his place in the world and his belief that we can all create positive change.

From acclaimed director / writer Bronwen Hughes (Stander, Forces of Nature) comes a true story of relentless passion; the story of the life of Dan Eldon, photographer, creative, artist, and activist. Choosing to forgo traditional studies  and a calmer life in London  Dan Eldon chases his calling to be an activist and photojournalist, risking his life to find the simple truths and joy of humanity as he documents a war-torn, famine-rife Africa. Along the way, he is faced with questions about his intentions, struggles over what good his work is doing, and the very real threat of brutal violence, which he is faced with every day. Crafting a marvelous collection of visually dazzling journals, Dan tries to make sense of his journey, as well as the emotional heartache of pursuing what he believes is his right path, sometimes leaving behind those he loves. When his life ends too soon, what remains is the invocation to live life with passion and to strive every day to make the world a better place.
