Sunday Smörgåsbord with Magnus Nilsson at Bar Tartine
Bar Tartine is excited to celebrate the release of Faviken, the first cookbook by Magnus Nilsson, with a Sunday Smörgåsbord with the author.
We will be serving a Smörgåsbord buffet brunch showcasing a number of the techniques used in the book Faviken. We will have a selection of house made cheeses, sausages, fermented pickles, cured fish and a variety new of Tartine breads including a new porridge bread and sprouted rye.
Magnus Nilsson, is the 28-year old chef whose restaurant, Faviken Magasinet, is located on a 20,000 acre farm and hunting estate in Northern Sweden. It has recently been called "the most daring restaurant in the world" by Bon Appetit. The food served at Faviken - from the dairy to the meat to the vegetables - is harvested, butchered and preserved by hand using the most natural and primitive methods possible, and Nilsson is in factor of simple cooking methods such as roasting over open coals. This approach results in the highly creative food and intense flavors of which, far from seeming traditional, are remarkable. Nilsson will be in attendance and will meet guests and be available to sign books.
