Following their headlining appearance at 2012s CHAOS IN TEJAS fest, UK Anarcho Punks THE MOB will be touring the West Coast United States and performing in Santa Ana at Unit B Studio at an all ages DIY punk show. Formed in the 80s THE MOB were standouts of the CRASS RECORDS peace punk crowd along with RUDIMENTARY PENI and FLUX OF PINK INDIANS although politically in line with these bands THE MOB had more of a melodic dark sound as opposed to the full on bursts of rage embodied by their contemporaries. THE MOB has been influential both to aspiring peace punks as well as more politically ambivalent indie, death rock and post punk bands in the decades following the bands inception.
Opening will be some Southern California's most vital DIY punk bands including South Central's DRAPETOMANIA whose members run the prolific SILENCIO STATICO label releasing politically charged punk from Los Angeles' inner city. DRAPETOMAINA proudly tout influence from the classic Spanish punk era of ESKORBUTO and RIP as well as classic UK street punk. Also opening will be what could possibly be the ONLY peace punk left in the Southern California area, Inland Empire's SECRET SECT. Celebrating their 5th year, SECRET SECT carry the banner (quite literally) of So Cal Anarcho Punk bands like AUTONOMY, MEDIA CHILDREN and RESIST AND EXIST into the current era with a raw peace punk message of outrage and protest that is as important as ever. AGAINST EMPIRE (with recordings out on PROFANE EXISTENCE RECORDS among others) also carry the political punk tradition with a heavy hand influenced by metallic anarcho punks ANTISECT as well as modern D BEAT bands such as TRAGEDY and DISFEAR.
This event is ALL AGES and no violence or discrimination will be tolerated.
