Chupacabra Conspiracy / Brick Penguin
The actors, writers and comedians of the award-winning Chupacabra Conspiracy Sketch Comedy Troupe have been performing together for more than two years. The group first met when studying and performing improv with Chicago City Limits at the East Broadway Comedy Club. Soon after they branched out into sketch writing and acting, performing at venues like The UCB, Queen's Secret Theatre and Parkside Lounge. Their last show was at the Long Island City Arts Festival in May, and before that they won the Sketchy LIC Comedy Competition at the Secret Theatre. Chupacabra Conspiracy specializes in character-driven, satirical comedy with acts that include a getaway driver and his mom, a psychic trying to help the criminally insane, diehard fans of Brian Dennehy, and 1980s JAZZERCISE!
Brick Penguin is Washington, DC's, premier-sketch comedy group featuring members and teachers of the Washington Improv Theater and not Capitol Hill staffers. The group has been performing in DC and across the midatlantic region for the past three years, and produces a monthly show at Touchdown in Washington, DC, mixing live performance with videos and musical comedy. Brick Penguin is not afraid to address sensitive subjects that so often confound human relationships, like making new friends, inadequate father figures, and whether personal lubricant can and should be used to whiten teeth.
