A Night of Comedic Relief
Dismas Houses of Southern Colorado, Inc. is the beneficiary of this event
Dismas Houses is a transitional residence in Colorado Springs where ex-offenders, the recovering addicted, volunteers and others work together to create community. It is important to understand that are not halfway houses or a treatment programs. We offer support in a structured community that may be suitable for probation or parole. Former prisoners and persons with criminal/addiction histories agree to follow the rules, house agreements, and expectations described in this fact sheet. Dismas Houses assists in the transition of people released from jail, or treatment programs through supportive community and through the services offered by staff and partner agencies.
MISSION:
The mission of Dismas Houses is the reconciliation of former prisoners and people in recovery with society, through the creation of supportive community and transitional assistance. Life recovery, one step at a time.
For this evening we will be presentiung the comedic skills of George McClure, a recovering comedian associated with Recovery Comedy. This organization is dedicated to providing "A night out with professional recovering comedians who know what it's like to overcome an addiction and realize there is laughter after the pain. It's a time to hang out and celebrate the fact that you're around, making it, one day at a time.... or as we like to say, "One laugh at a time.""
