Looking Left/Chicago
Stripped down, streamlined and succinct, this year's festival presents eight smart dances by innovative choreographers from Chicago, the Bay Area, and Santa Cruz. Performances are Friday and Saturday, October 19th and 20th, 8:00 PM, at Motion at the Mill. Two workshops will be held on Saturday & Sunday, October 20-21, go to www.santacruzdance.com for more information.
This evening of performance features mid-career and emerging artists composing in the short form. Included on the program are works by Cid Pearlman (Santa Cruz), Peter Carpenter (Chicago), formerly Chicago based Smith/Wymore Disappearing Acts (Bay Area), David Lakein (Chicago/Berlin), Damara Vita Ganley (Bay Area), Dixie Fun Dance Theater (New York City/Santa Cruz), Molly Katzman (Santa Cruz), and Eli Weinberg (Santa Cruz).
