JOURNEY to the EAST
Belly Dance, Bollywood, and beyond!
In addition to belly dance, this concert showcases the dances of India, Cambodia and China's provinces. Featuring international dance artists, the program combines folkloric and modern theatrical dances with fusion performances.
The cast includes
Nalini: a spectacularly skilled Russian dancer, performing Indian Kathak dance, Egyptian Raks Sharqi (belly dance), and Bollywood dance,
Nath: an amazing male dancer, who performs classical Cambodian dance and belly dance (and is also one of the best belly dancers in North America),
Adalat: a former member of Chinas National Dance Music and Song Ensemble, performing classical Uighur dance,
and Sabura, Elisa Gamal, Mirabai, and Ruby: belly dancers who have all won multiple national titles and awards for belly dance
Tickets: $21 in advance here, or $25 at the door
