Leading a nonprofit these days is more challenging than ever before, and the risk of problems in a nonprofit organization can be directly related to the effectiveness of the board of directors. It is absolutely essential that those responsible for board leadership have the right mix of knowledge, skill and manner of interacting that fits with their nonprofit. In this session participants will learn the elements of Strategic Board Recruitment and effective development of the board team.
Liz Heath is the Principal of Sound Nonprofits, a consultancy focused on guiding nonprofit organizations to greater sustainability. Liz has more than 35 years of experience in the nonprofit sector as executive director, development director, board member and consultant. She is a frequent presenter at conferences around the region and is the former Founding Executive Director of The Nonprofit Center.
