Toby's Place Comedy Fundraiser 2017
Toby's Place will be a sanctuary for LGBTQ+ youth in the south-west Scarborough area, where all who enter will have the opportunity to be nourished in body and soul. Toby's Place will offer comfort, support, inspiration and encouragement for individual, community and global transformation by affirming both the reality and the dreams of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, transgender, 2-spirited, queer and questioning youth in this community. Toby's Place will be a space where LGTBQ+ youth can see real and exciting new possibilities for their future.
Toby's Place is a response to a deep community need in an area with almost no services for queer youth.
This hilarious show, directed by Randy Vancourt, will showcase some to Toronto's best sketch, improv and standup comedy artists including the sketch comedy troupe: Women Fully Clothed - Kathryn Greenwood (Whose Line Is It Anyway), Teresa Pavlinek (The Jane Show) and Robin Duke (SCTV, SNL). Also, featured are: Debra McGrath and Neil Crone (Little Mosque on the Prairie), Peter Wildman (The Frantics), Randy Vancourt (Musical Director and Comedian), Standups: Shannon McDonough and Aastha Lal plus singer/impressionist Jennifer Walls and super improv star Leslie Seiler. The event will be hosted by Maggie Cassella.
