Cook for Syria Toronto
Join Slow Food Toronto, The Depanneur and the Newcomer Kitchen to celebrate Terra Madre Day at the Depannuer. We will feature a three-course menu made by the Syrian women of the Newcomer Kitchen. We will start with a Fattoush Salad and Fattayers to start, El Maldoom for the main (a layered casserole of sliced vegetables and spiced ground halal beef and / or seasonal vegetables), Kyar beleban (a cucumber and mint salad) and two dessert options (Syrian cookies and figs with walnuts, and dates with almonds, with tahini & grape molasses for dipping). Wine will also accompany the meal.
