CityWalk Playground Swing By Fundraiser

Join us on October 5th for Cocktails, Hors d'oevres, and entertainment. A silent auction will include artwork in various mediums, from paint to sculpture. All proceeds support the construction of the CityWalk Playground. More info to come!!!

The AIA Dallas 2012 Emerging Leaders class is currently raising money in support for the Central Dallas Community Development Corporation (CDCDC). The CDCDC is dedicated to helping Dallas' homeless population transition to self-sustainable living arrangements, the CDCDC owns the mixed use CityWalk@Akard property, with 206 residential units, of which 100 units are affordable housing and 100 units are reserved for those who were formerly homeless or at-risk of homelessness. Fundraising will be through the CDCDC, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization; however, the playground project will be funded separately from CDCDC's annual budget.

This year's Emerging Leaders class project involves designing, fundraising, and building a playground at CityWalk@Akard. The Playground will provide a close and safe place for CityWalk@Akard's Community Life Team, managed by the 501(c)3 non-profit organization CitySquare, to hold educational and team building activities with the children living at CityWalk@Akard
