Let The Knowing Speak -- Jan 28 & 29, 2017 African American Composer Initiative Concerts
The theme for the concerts, Let the Knowing Speak, sets the tone for the program:  music born of African American history and told in the powerful language of spirituals, blues, jazz, instrumental music and song.

Concerts are on both Saturday, January 28 and Sunday January 29. Select the date from the drop-down menu.

Joining our roster of performers this year is distinguished tenor Othello Jefferson, gifted saxophonist Oscar Pangilinan, and the marvelous modern dancers of Eastside College Prep. Returning will be beloved guest composers and artists Dr. Valerie Capers, John Robinson and Joshua McGhee, each of whom has composed a new work for AACI. Other composers represented will be Zenobia Powell Perry, Margaret Bonds,  Dolores White, and Dizzie Gillespie.

Please plan to arrive early to help us seat everyone in a timely manner.
