Set over 28 years, The Last Family is a black comedy about Zdzislaw Beksinski and his family. The story begins in 1977 when his son, Tomek, moves into an apartment in their housing complex. This intensifies relations between them. Zofia, Tomeks mother, constantly worries about her overly sensitive and disturbed son; Zdzislaw, the father, tries to devote himself to his art. After Tomeks first suicide attempt, Zdzislaw and Zofia must struggle to help their son and also to regain control over their lives. When Zdzislaw signs a contract with Piotr Dmochowski, an art dealer living in France and Tomek begins work at Polish Radio, it seems the family's troubles are behind them. However, that is not their fate as a series of strange events is yet to come.
Pelen czarnego humoru film o Zdzislawie Beksinskim i jego rodzinie. Akcja rozgrywa sie na przestrzeni 28 lat, zas fabula koncentruje sie na warszawskim okresie zycia rodziny Beksinskich. Historia zaczyna sie w 1977 roku, gdy Tomek Beksinski wprowadza sie do swojego mieszkania. Jego rodzice mieszkaja tuz obok, na tym samym osiedlu, przez co ich kontakty pozostaja bardzo intensywne. Nadwrazliwa i niepokojaca osobowosc Tomka powoduje, ze matka - Zofia, wciaz martwi sie o syna. W tym samym czasie Zdzislaw Beksinski próbuje calkowicie poswiecic sie sztuce. Po pierwszej nieudanej próbie samobójczej Tomka Zdzislaw i Zofia musza podajc walke nie tylko o syna, ale takze o przywrócenie kontroli nad swoim zyciem. Gdy Zdzislaw podpisuje umowe z mieszkajacym we Francji marszandem Piotrem Dmochowskim, a Tomek rozpoczyna prace w Polskim Radiu, wydaje sie, ze rodzina najgorsze klopoty ma juz za soba. Jednak seria dziwnych, naznaczonych fatum wydarzen, dopiero nadejdzie.
