SYNOPSIS: A riveting play by Henry Murray (Three Views on the Same Object, Monkey Adored), Treefall is a gritty, heartfelt, intense play that follows the story of three teenagers living alone in a cabin during a post-apocalyptic time. The two older boys, August and Flynn, play the roles of Mommy and Daddy to the youngest, Craig, as the three struggle to maintain a normal life in a world that is anything but. However, when August and Flynn encounter Bug, a tough, independent traveler, the boys' world is turned upside-down and familial bonds are put to the test.
PREVIOUS ACCLAIM: Treefall opened to critical acclaim in Los Angeles, where it made LA Weekly's Best Theater of 2009 List. LA Weekly cited that "[Treefall is] grimy, primal, heady, despondent yet inexplicably giddy-making for the sheer truth of the ache in its heart." The Los Angeles Times reported that Treefall's, "edgy, end-of-the-world vibe effectively drives home its cautionary message about the environmental legacy we're neglectfully creating for future generations."
