Something Blue
An Artist's Marriage is mortally wounded when she paints outside the lines.
This world premiere play is written by Julie Proudfoot and directed by Azar Kazemi.
Something Blue is about the passionate but combative marriage between two creative types. Julie Proudfoot plays Mia, an artist whose career is hamstrung by her husband, Parker. David Blixt plays Parker, a struggling writer and closet conservative. To break out of her creative rut, Mia paints a disturbing self-portrait that drives Parker to violence and to question her sanity. As Mia regains her self-confidence, she makes a dangerous discovery that leads to a shocking twist in the play's final scene.
Something Blue opens at the Fasseas White Box Theater at The Drucker Center on October 25, 2012, and will run through Sunday, November 4, 2012. Performances are at 8:00 PM on Friday and Saturday and at 4:00 PM on Sunday. The theatre offers free, on-site parking and is adjacent to the CTA Red Line. PLEASE NOTE: THURSDAY, NOV 1 PERFORMANCE IS CANCELLED. PERFORMANCES WILL RESUME FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 2ND.
