It has been a great year for The Head & The Hand. In 2016 thus far, we have published 15 writers in our latest, and most divine, almanac installment, The Bible Belt Almanac. We restocked the vending machine by publishing 6 more amazing writers for our spring chapbook series, with another 6 on the way this fall. And we offered over 100 classes and literary events to over 50 writers in Philadelphia.
All of this great work is done with support from you, our dear readers and community members, and we are inviting you to our annual Author Fundraiser Dinner to help us make 2017 even better than 2016.
But as always, we never ask for your help without giving you something unusual, unprecedented, and unpredictably entertaining in return, and this time is no different. The theme of this year's dinner is Murder Mystery, and we wrangled a great cast of characters to help us. Rounding out our author tables and providing literary clues as to who the culprit could be are H&H authors Tracey Levine, Dave and Ilyssa Kyu, Elizabeth Scanlon, and Patrick McNeil. These esteemed authors will be joined by actors from the Pig Iron Theatre who will be acting out the story in real time. Food will once again be provided by H&H's favorite chef and proprietor of the Soup Kitchen Café in Kensington, Ben Bigler. The scene of the crime and delicious meal will be at the Circle of Hope Church in Fishtown.
