Treasure Valley Food Coalition and the Flicks present: "Seed:The Untold Story"
In the last century, 94% of our seed varieties have disappeared. As biotech chemical companies control the majority of our seeds, farmers, scientists, lawyers, and indigenous seed keepers fight a David and Goliath battle to defend the future of our food. In a harrowing and heartening story, these reluctant heroes rekindle a lost connection to our most treasured resource and revive a culture connected to seeds. SEED features Vandana Shiva, Dr. Jane Goodall, Andrew Kimbrell, Winona Laduke and Raj Patel.
Please join us for a special screening of this film at the Flicks theater on Thursday October 20th. There will be a no host Social Hour starting at 6PM. The film will start at 7PM with a discussion to follow. Tickets are $12 plus service charge.
We are grateful to the Flicks for giving us an opportunity to screen this film to a larger audience. All proceeds will support our efforts to expand and improve the local food system, e.g. the Tomato Independence Project, the Grain Initiative, farmland preservation.
