I'M ALWAYS DRUNK IN SAN FRANCISCO
A loving tribute to the culture and history of the greatest city in the world by some of the greatest writers of all time. San Francisco history comes to life with the words of JACK KEROUAC, MARK TWAIN, JACK LONDON, H.L. MENCKEN and GARY KAMIYA. Conceived, performed and co-written by GEOFFREY POND. Directed by ROBERT ERNST  Title song written by TOMMY WOLF arranged by JOSHUA RAOUL BRODY, and G. POND.

Featuring material originally written to be read only from such great historic journals as Colliers Magazine and The New Yorker to mention a couple and transforming them into a series of lively and theatrical monologues. Jack Kerouac's account of the famous Six Gallery poetry reading in 1955 where the Beat scene was born. Jack London's terrifying eyewitness account of the '06 earthquake and fire. H.L. Mencken's humorous little known story of the Bourbon fueled 1920 Democratic National Convention at the then newly built San Francisco (Bill Graham) Civic Auditorium.  Mark Twain's impressions of 1860's San Francisco including his first public lecture at The Academy of Music on Pine Street. Plus the poetic and historic writings from the author of San Francisco: The Cool Gray City of Love and editor of San Francisco Magazine and San Francisco Chronicle columnist Gary Kamiya. Created,co-written and performed by Subterranean Shakespeare's artistic director Geoffrey Pond, actor, musician and over fifty year resident of the Bay Area  who offers his written take on San Francisco's amazing cultural history that has influenced the whole world. Directed by Robert Ernst, actor, writer, director and the grandfather of Bay Area solo performance with the legendary Blake Street Hawkeyes. Joshua Raoul Brody, musician, composer, arranger who has worked with everyone from The Residents to Robin Williams in over forty years of performing.
