Bassist Rosemary Galloway is putting together a series featuring a different jazz vocalist every month. This month Hazel Walker Sings!

Hazel Walker is a native of Halifax and an accomplished jazz artist. She has performed at noted Toronto venues The Montreal Bistro, The Rex Hotel, and in live concert/ broadcast for The Sound of Toronto Jazz series. ' It's wonderful to hear Hazel Walker, a vocalist who treats a song with respect, sings in tune, understands the lyrics, works with first rank musicians, and makes a deep connection with the listener.' Toronto broadcaster Ted O'Reilly.

Pianist and vocalist Graham Howes brings a wide variety of experience to his performances. He has appeared on numerous television shows and on radio and television commercials as well as countless live performances. Graham has accompanied Hazel for many years and appears on her CD "On This Quiet Night" as pianist, arranger and vocalist.

Bassist Rosemary Galloway has composed for and recorded with her own groups The Swing Sisters, The Rosemary Galloway Quartet and Jim Galloway's Wee Big Band. Her most recent release is with the Jane Fair/ Rosemary Galloway Quintet, featuring original compositions on their new CD "Playin' Jane".
