The 2017 World Premiere of the Play: "Strawberry, What Party?"
One rainy night in April an exotic dancer named Strawberry died during a drive-by in Detroit after her dance at the Hip-Hop Mayor's wild mansion bachelor party. Who killed Strawberry? Some say the Mayor's bodyguard did it to shut her up, others blame Strawberry's jealous boyfriend, a few think Strawberry was killed during a drug hit. In the end, Strawberry's case went cold and the Hip-Hop Mayor resigned amid shocking corruption charges. This true crime caper is explored by Carol Teegardin in her two-act play, "Strawberry, What Party?" Teegardin joins award-winning director Mary Bremer-Beer on the stage of Marlene Boll Theatre/YMCA in downtown Detroit for the play's world premiere on Jan. 20, 2017.Final weekend; January 27, 28,29: Showtimes 8pm for Friday and Saturday and2 pm on Sunday.
