Music Like a Curve of Gold: songs, vocal duets and opera by contemporary women composers: October 14 (Chappaqua) and October 21 (New York City)
The Borzova-Tonna Vocal Duo, accompanied by pianist Olga Gurevich, will present a concert Music Like a Curve of Gold dedicated to the works of contemporary women composers in two locations: in Chappaqua, Westchester, and in New York City.

The first concert will take place on Friday, October 14, at 7:30 PM at historic The Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Episcopal, in Chappaqua, New York.  The address is 191 S Greeley Ave, Chappaqua, NY 10514. Tel. (914) 238-8751.

The second concert will take place on Friday, October 21st, at 7:30 PM at the Marc A. Scorca Hall of the National Opera Center in New York City.  The address is 330 7th Ave, New York, NY 10001. Tel. (212) 796-8630.

Additional information: (914) 738-5847 or (917) 680-1582.

The program will feature the arts songs and duets by Beth Anderson, Alla Borzova, Juliana Hall, Patricia Leonard, Binnette Lipper, Julia Mandel, Nataliya Medvedovskaya, Melanie Mitrano, Anne Phillips, Hilary Tann, Tawnie Olson, and Joelle Wallach. The scene from Alla Borzovas chamber comic opera The Wedding Gift of Pirate Granny will be presented as well. The themes range from mysticism, immigration & resistance, communion with nature and domestic bliss to the bawdy world of carnivals and piracy!

Borzova-Tonna Vocal Duo, formed in 2014, is two-time recipient of the New York Women Composers Association award. The duo presented multiple recitals featuring music by historical and contemporary women composers.  In December of 2014 they presented a recital entitled There Is a Magic Made by Melody at historic St. Joseph of Arimathea Episcopal Church in White Plains. Now for the first time they bring the extended program to Chappaqua, Westchester County, and the National Opera Center in New York City.
