Jarvis.  Performances run Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00PM and Sundays at 7:00PM.  Tickets are $15 ($10 for students and Year of Antigone participants) and can be reserved by visiting www.dreamtheatrecompany.com or by calling 773-552-8616

The final act of the tragedy of Oedipus and his children will unfold

This critically acclaimed play is part of DePaul University Philosphy Department's The Year of Antigones: a multi-disciplinary, multi-institutional, and community-wide series of events focused on the figure of Antigone.

Eleven months after the death of Antigone and the madness of King Creon, all is still not well in the city of Thebes. When a chorus of thousands appear in Thebes and blame Ismene for their own miserable lives, she is unjustly banished far away to a school for unruly girls. It is within this school's dark and irreverent walls that the true nature of prophecy is revealed, and the final act of the tragedy of Oedipus and his children unfolds.

Jenn Goddu claimed it as one of her top 5 picks of 2006.

"Ismene definitely offers some unusual twists, both in the classic
vein and in its relevance to contemporary life..."
- Culture, Current Calendar

"Menekseoglu tempers his rage and disappointment with
a profoundly compassionate and humane understanding of
his characters. Ismene is no angry sneer."
- Zac Thompson, Fool's Gold Coast

Talk back sessions with the writer and actors will be open after each performance to participants of The Year of Antigones.

Additionally we will host staged readings of the original play ANTIGONE by Jeremy Menekseoglu on Saturdays (1/12/07, 1/19/07 & 1/26/07) at 4:00pm which would run 80 minutes followed by a talk back session. Admission to the reading is $5.00 for all attendees.

ISMENE is directed by Jeremy Menekseoglu and Danielle Gennaoui and features the ensemble cast of Anna Weile r, Judith Lesser, Rachel Martindale, Erica Fox, Lindsey Barlag, and Jeremy Menekseoglu.  Design by Anna Weiler.
