Summer Crafternoon: Rag Rug Twining
Crafters, sharpen your scissors! Join us for a summer afternoon learning to twine a Rag Rug! We have the looms, you bring old bed sheets, curtains or other left over fabric to tear (we recommend to choose contrasting colors) and a sharp pair of scissors. Twining is an ancient form of hand weaving that lent itself well to re-purposing fabrics. After industrial fabrics became available, leftover or used fabrics could be made into sturdy, dense and durable mats and rugs, extending the life of the fabric. This workshop is open to all - no experience necessary! Reserve your spot through August 14. Attendance fee includes your place mat/bath mat size loom to take home, instruction, coffee+cookies. No refund after August 15, 2016.
