Fremont Dinner and Magic Show with Dan Chan Magic Man
Bian Lian featured at this dinner show is considered a Chinese national treasure and is held so rare and secretive Hong Kong pop singer Andy Lau learned Bian Lian from a master only after paying the master 3,000,000 yuan or $360,000.00 US dollars. Few practitioners of this ancient art form perform Bian Lian with the traditional Szechuan Opera movements or "dong zhou". Dan preserves this rich tradition by performing Bian Lian with traditional movement. Each rapid face change represents a different character, and each character will assume a unique stance, walk and characteristic body posture. In fact, Penn from Penn & Teller fame has said "don't waste your time by trying to bust this guy by taping the show and slowing it down. We tried buddy, he's just too darn good!" Bian Lian is traditionally kept in the family and has traditionally been taught only from father to son. In fact all the masters Dan asked repeatedly rejected Dan's pleas to learn the secret of Bian Lian. So how did Dan learn Bian Lian? As fate would have it, an old master had no heir to pass this treasure to. The rest is history. Chan will present and preserve this secret Chinese art form for the rest of his life.
Dan Chan has been hailed "an intense, three-ring circus rolled into one man" by audiences worldwide. With over ten years of experience, Dan has performed for thousands of corporations including Google, Intel, Oracle, IBM, Yahoo, Cisco and Charles Schwab. He has made multiple television appearances on ABC, CBS, NBC, AFN and MTV. In fact, when 187 billionaires, media moguls, and socialites convened in Sun Valley Idaho for Allen and Company's annual gathering, they chose Dan.
His unique skills featuring illusions, escapes, juggling, acrobatics, pick pocketing and the death defying bullet catch have garnered performances in Las Vegas, Japan, Mexico, Washington D.C., and most recently at the World Famous Magic Castle in Hollywood. Dan is also one of the few performers in the US who performs the ancient Chinese Art, Change of Face.
Dan is an award winning magician, and has been awarded numerous awards throughout the years, including San Jose Magician of the Year, Oakland Magician of the Year, and Bay Area Magician of the Year.
