Event
Peter Weiss at the Tannery Arts Center Radius Gallery
Santa Cruz singer-songwriter and UCSC Chemistry teacher and researcher will perform his original music from his folk-rock days as a member of the Seattle band Big Spoon. He will be joined by the talented Dan Robbins on bass and Jim Norris on drums. Michael Levy and Gail Swain will also join in to lend their talents on piano and backing vocals, respectively.
Peter's songs run the range from ballads about love and home to social-environmental commentaries. His music is upbeat and has a strong groove, yet is melodic, poetic, and emotional. Peter's band Big Spoon back in the early 2000's was described as "Seattle's answer to the Dave Matthews Band."
This is a rare performance by this talented group of musicians.
The proceeds will go to the Campership Fund, helping kids in need attend summer camps in the Santa Cruz area.
The Radius Gallery at the Tannery Arts Center is a beautiful space with room to dance. Beer, wine, and snacks will be available for purchase.
