The Importance of Being Earnest
***NOTE*** SUNDAY SHOW IS AT 1950 W 18th Ave Vancouver NOT the listed venue
Budding Vancouver Theatre Company, A Bunch Of Actors opens its first season with Oscar Wildes beloved play The Importance of Being Earnest. Subtitled a trivial comedy for serious people," The Importance of Being Earnest bubbles with delightful satire as the plot unfolds in hilarious pitfalls and frivolity. Society bachelors Jack Worthing and Algernon Moncrieff are leading dual lives in order to court the affections of Gwendolyn Fairfax and Cecily Cardew. As their elaborate ruse begins to fall apart the gentlemen go to extravagant lengths to win the ladies love, amounting to a head to head with the imperious Lady Bracknell. The story develops over 3 acts with witty British dialogue and subtly layered double meanings paired with, of course, a healthy helping of tea!
