The Bullfighter

A mathematical genius, homeless and delusional after the disappearance of his true love, becomes entangled in a shadow political group's attempt to sway a pivotal Presidential election in return for a chance to see her again. Former Washington political operative's play on the underworld of presidential politics receives 3-Nights of performances at the Blue Theatre this July.

Blue Theatre new plays program piloted in 2009, and launched in 2011, our goals are to grow and sustain Austin's cultural scene as a vibrant center for new plays. To provide resources for the pursuit of collaborative and creative productions and projects, including staged readings, workshops, and full-staged productions.

'The Bullfighter' received a formal, staged reading last year as part of our new plays series and returns for 3 evenings of performances with script, character, and theatrical additions. We are pleased to welcome back, Geraldo Olivo and his play, 'The Bullfighter'.
