Shooting Star, a play by Steven Dietz
In The Moment Theatre is pleased to announce the first Seattle staging of the play Shooting Star by celebrated playwright Steven Dietz, at Eclectic Theater.
"As a playwright, Seattle is my home city, and to have my play Shooting Star presented there for the first time is a treat for me", said Dietz, one of the country's most widely produced and published playwrights. Dietz teaches writing and theatre at the University of Texas at Austin.
Snowed in at a Midwest airport, college lovers Elena and Reed have an unexpected and life-altering reunion. Elena has stayed true to her hippie-ish ways while Reed has gone predictably conservative. As the night gives way to laughter, banter, remembrance and alcohol, Elena and Reed revisit a past that holds more surprises than they imagined - and a present that neither of them could have predicted.
Featuring E.J. Gong and Angela Redman, two seasoned stage and film/TV actors, the show is directed by veteran director Jeff Woodbridge.
