Asheville Movement Collective & Asheville Rhythm Live Music Special Dance
"As live musicians, our intention is to co-create a colorful pathway to the collective rhythm of the group in flow of shared energy."
On Sunday, March 27, AMC and Asheville Rhythm present a live music special event with musicians River Guergerian playing a collection of percussion instruments including gongs, hand pan, singing bowls, and hand drums, Chris Rosser on exotic stringed instruments and keys, and John Vorus on didgeridoo, drones, and live processing.
To co-create our community rhythm, experienced percussionists are invited to bring your instruments and join the musicians for a buildup section of the dance. Drum facilitator Tom Boots will support our drummers in coordination with the Asheville Rhythm musicians.
Sunday, March 27, after First Wave Tickets: $10+ (Suggested: $10-25)
In support of a safer space for us to move together and to create a container for our dance, doors will close at 11:00 am, or after the warmup. Any pre-purchased tickets that aren't used before the space is closed will be made available to waiting dancers.
We'll have our regular first wave dance at 8:30 am at The Asheville Masonic Temple so dancers who prefer our regular event don't have to miss out on their regular Sunday movement practice.
