Welcome to the Better Beer Society University!
As the beer industry continues to evolve, so should the consumer. BBSU recognizes and applauds your thirst for beer knowledge. However, there is a lot of misinformation being put out there from Op-Ed pieces, best-of lists, blog posts, click-bait sites, etc...and it's important to us that students get back to basics and learn the fundamentals of this industry and the beverage we all know and love.
Which is why we are thrilled to introduce you to our new programming aimed at educating consumers from all background and levels of experience, beginning with Beer 101. Beer 101 is our Program Orientation course aimed at educating students on the fundamentals of beer, as well as the industry that creates and supports it. This course offers students a well-rounded base knowledge and deep appreciation for beer as we deconstruct its elements and the brewing process. Students will learn about beer history and geography while further developing their palates through tasting and building common beer vernacular. We'll also explore the business side of the industry, from understanding MN beer laws to service industry and best practices. Now accepting enrollment for the 2016 spring semester! This 9-week course will include tasting flights, supplies, as well as access to industry experts all in an intimate setting. The semester runs from March 30th through May 25th. Class is held weekly (Wednesdays) at 7pm and will last approximately one hour. As space is limited and because we are only offering one course this spring term, we highly encourage students to enroll today to guarantee their seat.
