On this fun, all day tour we visit three ghost towns. At Pearce, we will check out a couple of quaint little shops near the old mercantile store, and perhaps find a ghost willing to give us a tour of the historic Old Pearce Cemetery. Then, taking the unpaved road south 15 miles to Gleeson, we will pass through the ruins of Courtland. At Gleeson, Joe Bono, whose father & uncle operated the Gleeson Saloon, will open the 1910 Gleeson Jail and share his treasures and stories about growing up in a mining boomtown.
Then it's off to Tombstone, the Town Too Tough To Die. Here we will enjoy an excellent lunch, entertainment, and libations. Dr. Jay will lead his now famous Tombstone Walking Tour. And there will be plenty of free time to shop, or enjoy some of Tombstone's other Wild West attractions, such as the Good Enough Mine Tour and the historic Tombstone Courthouse.
Then we head for back to Tucson. Starting and ending point will the Costco parking lot at Kino and I-10. Departure: 8:00 AM. Return by 6:00 PM.
