Bayou Lacombe Work/Play Adventure
NOTE: This event was originally scheduled for March 12, but it has been rescheduled for April 9. All other details remain the same.
Come on a trip to Bayou Lacombe for a work/play volunteer adventure. We will join park rangers to help restore historical gardens and trails, then enjoy lunch in the great outdoors and reward ourselves with a canoe outing in the bayou. Let's get out of the city and have some fun!
This is a volunteer activity organized by Friends of Louisiana Wildlife Refuges, Inc. U.S and international students are welcome and encouraged to attend. All equipment and lunch will be provided. Wear clothes that can get dirty and closed-toe shoes. The ticket fee is to cover transportation costs only.
You do not need to print your tickets: Once you buy a ticket OISS will have your name on a list of attendees. Just bring your Splash Card or other photo ID to get on the shuttle.
Transport Uptown Campus: Bus departs at 7:30 am on Freret St. outside the Howard-Tilton Memorial Library (Building # 60 Uptown). Downtown Campus: Bus departs at 7:45 am outside Deming Pavilion (Building #6 Downtown).
The canoe trip ends around 1:30 pm and we will return to New Orleans around 3 pm.
