The 4th Annual Red Hook Prom 2016 (like your High School Prom, only better!)
THE RED HOOK PROM, this year sponsored by local real estate firm REALTY COLLECTIVE, is an annual themed dance party and auction in support of the pay-what-you-can dance programs of Shannon Hummel/Cora Dance. This year, with a twist! The theme for this year's event is 80's VS 90's! Come decked out in your preferred decade, dance the night away to both 80's and 90's music, and give towards to decade you most enjoy and we will close out the night with an hours of tunes in the winning decade!!
Shannon Hummel/Cora Dance offers outstanding professional performances and classes year-round in Red Hook and beyond to thousands of audience members and students. No one is ever turned away from Cora based on what or if they can pay and The Prom is no different!! Admission is on a sliding scale (suggested $100; minimum $5) for a night just like you remember from high school. only better. Less teen angst, less crying in the bathroom and less inhibition on the dance floor because, HEY... THE PUNCH IS SPIKED! Food, prizes, a kickin' silent auction, lots of dancing and of course, "classy" prom decor. It's a chance to party the way you were always meant to... LIKE A GROWN UP!
We once again return to South Brooklyn Community High School for an evening of elegance and romance that only a real high school gym can provide! In addition, our best friends are back to make this evening a night to remember:
After spinning the '80s hits that just won't quit to over 500 dancing fools at the past three Red Hook Proms, DJ Body Rock is back by popular demand to keep you dancing - as Lionel Richie would say - "all night long"! Have your dedications ready!
Dry Dock (with their AMAZING spiked-punch), Botta de Vino, and SixPoint will all be stocking our bar, and MVS Photo Booth will be on hand to capture all of the fun!
The professional dancers and students from Shannon Hummel/Cora Dance will be leading the crowd in, like, totally awesome performances!
On this night, Cora will also hold an incredible Silent Auction with amazing deals ranging in value from $20 to $5000. There's something for everyone!
