World Kitchen Pop Up - Ethiopian Night
Finally!
Due to popular demand, World Foods To Go is partnering with the Jefferson Street Pub to share amazing Ethiopian cuisine with the foodies of Lafayette.
If you've never eaten Ethiopian style, you're in for a treat.
This will be a sit down Set-menu dinner at JSP served the traditional Ethiopian way. A large platter of Injera (the Ethiopian spongy, savory pancake-like bread) topped with delicious meat stews, lentils, greens and fresh salad is put in front of a group of friends and eaten together.
The meal is eaten usually with your hands (highly recommended!) using pieces of Injera to sop up the delicious flavors. If that's too exotic for you, forks will be provided.
So come join us for a night of delicious food and drinks (PLEASE support JSP by drinking up! Without their amazing support, this could not happen)
WHEN: Tuesday, Jan. 26th 6pm Cocktails & Table assignments 6:30-7pm Dinner starts being served

FAQ:
1- Kids?
No, sorry. JSP is a bar, so 18 and up only.
2- What if I'm single? Or only a couple?
No worries! There will be quite a few people who come alone or just as a couple. We will seat couples and singles all together. 4 to a table is the goal.
Each platter of food will have duplicate servings of the same things, so you don't have to reach around or fight over bites.
The beauty of this traditional way of eating is that it brings people together. They say breaking bread is the best way to create community. (Well, you'll literally be breaking bread together!) You'll be amazed how a meal like this can make strangers into friends.
3- Is this an all you can eat buffet?
No, it's a set menu, but there will be plenty on the platter to fill you up.
4- Are any drinks included?
No, JSP are extremely gracious to host this and I ask you kindly to buy drinks at the bar in support of them, and to help events like this happen more often.
I recommend a nice stiff cocktail pre-dinner. Then a glass of Pinot Noir, white wine or beer with the meal!
5- Is this Gluten Free?
No. Although Injera is made mostly out of a grain called Teff that is gluten-free, they also mix in Whole wheat. If really want to come and enjoy and taste the stews, we can offer the above with a side of Basmati rice. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO ADVISE ME A.S.A.P. if this is the case. samiparbhoo@gmail.com
