Stalking Weird History: a conversation with Robert Damon Schneck and Mitch Horowitz
Date: Thursday, February 25th
Time: 7pm ( lecture will start at 7.15 sharp )
Admission: $10
Location: Morbid Anatomy Museum, 424 Third Avenue, 11215 Brooklyn NY

A monthly series of provocative and useful dialogues with artists, writers, filmmakers, and scholars who broaden our understanding of the ill-considered and the unknown, hosted by PEN Award-winning historian Mitch Horowitz

Robert is one of today's leading Fortean historians whose underground classic of strange history,The President's Vampire, is being made into a horror movie by the Weinstein Company. Unlike many Forteans, Robert is a skeptic  he and Mitch will discuss to how understand reports of the truly weird, from haunted Ouija boards to inter-dimensional apemen to killer clowns to suicide clubs, in a critical, grounded, and inquiring manner.

Your Morbid Academy host MITCH HOROWITZ is a writer and publisher with a lifelong interest in man's search for meaning. The PEN Award-winning author of Occult America and One Simple Idea, Mitch has written on everything from the war on witches to the secret life of Ronald Reagan for The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Salon, and Time. The Washington Post says Mitch "treats esoteric ideas and movements with an even-handed intellectual studiousness that is too often lost in today's raised-voice discussions." Mitch hosts the web series ORIGINS: SUPERSTITIONS, directed by Morbid Anatomy filmmaker-in-residence Ronni Horowitz

Robert Damon Schneck is a writer and lecturer specializing in strange, obscure, and Fortean American history. His books include The President's Vampire (2005) and the Edgar nominated Mrs. Wakeman vs. the Antichrist (2014). A movie adaptation of his story "Bridge to Body Island,"called "The Bye-Bye Man," will be released in October 2016. You can reach Robert at "Historian of the Strange" on Facebook.
