Soul Sisters
A play by Joanne Koch & Sarah Blacher Cohen
Two great performersone Jewish, one African American, help each other through public success, personal tragedy, and a rediscovery of their roots. Featuring original and traditional music, including songs by Billie Holiday and Debbie Friedman, Soul Sisters celebrates Jewish and African American cultures, recognizing conflicts between the two, and joyously finding common ground through music and shared struggles.
