Hobo Gerz Open Mic (w/ Featured Reader Valerie G. Keane)

Hobo Gerz is an intimate monthly FREE open mic held in the living room of Jennifer (Hobo) and Chris (Gerz) Gersbeck's apartment. What began as a small group of artists trying out their latest material in front of their friends has grown into a popular monthly gathering of New York City's most talented comedians, musicians and poets. Those who sign up as a performer are guaranteed a performance spot of at least 4 minutes (more time will be given depending on turnout), and order is determined on a first come/first served basis.

Each month, Chris & Jen trade off picking a featured artist. This month Jennifer has chosen the amazing poet Valerie G. Keane as our featured guest.

Past featured artists have included Kambri Crews (New York Times Best-selling author of Burn Down the Ground), David Feldman (3 time Emmy Award Winner and co-creator of the Jack & Triumph Show), Philip Giambri (author of Confessions of a Repeat Offender) and Matt Graham (writer for Late Night with Conan O'Brien).

Guests are advised to arrive between 8-9pm to get situated in preparation for the show, which will begin promptly at 9pm. The show generally ends at around 11pm, after which guests are welcome to stay as long as they like. Feel free to bring drinks, food and snacks.
