ONE-MAN SHOW! Travel back in time to the Victorian-Era with Al LePage for a DRAMATIC READING PERFORMANCE! He not only CREATES ALL 26 CHARACTERS using DICKENS' FULL HISTORIC SCRIPT, but also does it in a city WHERE DICKENS PERFORMED IT in 1868, Providence, RI! AND, it's THE ONLY PROVIDENCE PERFORMANCE and of the COMPLETE historic script, too!

DICKENS' ACTING STYLE! Dickens simply used his voice, made facial expressions, gestured and moved his body to CREATE ALL THE CHARACTERS! LePage will do the same -- accents and all -- plus sound effects, too! From Scrooge to Tiny Tim, from Marley's Ghost to Mrs. Cratchit, there's howls and growls, bangs and bongs, a DANCE WITH A SONG, lively laughter and heartfelt tears.

BEFORE THE PERFORMANCE, PLAYFUL AND INTERACTIVE! LePage's love of improvisation not only means that he may engage you in conversation, but also involve you in other ways, too! Since he likes to experiment and believes in seizing the moment, even he doesn't always know what's going to happen next. And for this event, he'll sprinkle a little history about Dickens when came to Providence to perform in 1868. All this not only makes each performance UNIQUE, but also keeps them fresh and EXCITING, spontaneous and FULL OF SURPRISES, too!

ALL PROCEEDS TO BENEFIT THE MATHEWSON STREET SUNDAY MORNING FRIENDSHIP BREAKFAST, a program providing both a meal and a worship service, and also a way to connect with, and encourage people with resources to befriend, people with limited resources, including the homeless. This benefit performance is an official event of the Mathewson Street United Methodist Church.

NOTE: MATURE CHILDREN AGE 10 and older will best appreciate these dramatic reading performances, originally scripted by Dickens for adult audiences.

DOORS OPEN 30 MINUTES BEFORE THE PERFORMANCE.

PARKING is available both on the street and at a pay-to-park lot located directly next to the church. Other parking garages are within walking distance to the venue.
