Sister Sylvester's "What's Yours Is Mine (On a Beach At Night Alone)"
For "What's Yours Is Mine (On a Beach At Night Alone)," performance group Sister Sylvester takes over the Torn Page studio to presents experiments in "radical hospitality." Drawing on the work of Jacques Derrida, the site specific performance installation explores the tensions inherent in cultural notions of hospitality from the level of the nation-state, to the home, to the body.
"What's Yours Is Mine" is made possible in part with public funds from the Manhattan Community Arts Fund, supported by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council and administered by Lower Manhattan Cultural Council. LMCC.net
