'The Polish Dancer' is the only Pola Negri's Polish film that has survived to our times. Pola is a poor village girl, who hangs out in the underworld of Warsaw with Dimitri, her admirer. One day, after a family fight, Pola decides to run away and liberate herself from too obtrusive adorer. In a hotel room she makes him drunk, steal his money and dumps him. On her own she takes on modelling and dancing at a cabaret, meets a wealthy manufacturer Aleksy and soon finds herself in a love affair.  Pola is unaware that Aleksy is a married man nor she expects that Dimitri is on his way back to take a revenge

Pewnego dnia, po awanturze z rodzicami, postanawia uciec z domu, a potem uwolnić się od swego natrętnego kochanka. W hotelu upija go, okrada i porzuca. Od tej pory rozpoczyna samodzielne życie jako modelka i tancerka w kabarecie. Wkrótce poznaje bogatego przemysłowca Aleksego i rozpoczyna z nim romans. Dziewczyna nie wie, że Aleksy jest żonaty a upokorzony Dymitr postanawia się zemścić...

The peaceful life of resourceful Apollon Shmyguew  a citizen of Kiev, is disturbed with the outbreak of civil war in Russia. Apollon decides to keep a low profile and take refuge out in the south if Ukraine, which is under the rule of the Russian White Army, and to where he rides a camel that he accidentally meets on his way. Upon falling in the hands of the 'Reds' he finds himself stripped to the bone for the benefit of the revolution. Even the camel is confiscated for the needs of revolution. But zealous and canning Apollon very soon makes it up for himself and take charge of the local police station. As successful as he may seem Apollon cannot keep himself out of harm's way
