The "3Rs"at Seattle University

Seattle University and the Northwest Center for Creative Aging (NWCCA) offer an exciting opportunity for intergenerational, deep immersion learning in the "3Rs"- Renew, Recharge, Refresh.

Two days of learning - June 11-12, 2012, 9:00 AM-3:00 PM

Students can choose from four exciting courses chosen for interest and variety. Each two-day course will consist of three class hours per day with breaks for coffee and lunch. For more information, visit http://www.seattleu.edu/summer/ContinuingEd.aspx.

COST:
$125 for one 2-day session

1) Adult transformations: Continuity and change (E. Murowchick) - Unfolding, unrelenting, unchanging, and unpredictable: words that capture aspects of psychological development. Explore why transformations and continuities occur throughout the lifespan using case studies, vignettes, theories, and films.

2) Guns, Germs & Soccer (M. McLeod, T. Taylor) - Discuss historical perspectives and frameworks for understanding current affairs.

3) The Real and the Ideal in Ancient Athens (D.Madsen) - Exame the philosophy, art, architecture, literature and the politics of 4th Century Athens.

4) Sin: A History (E. Peterson, M. Whitlock) - Become an 'expert' in (the history of) Sin! Follow Sin from the Old Testament through to its reformulation in Catholic and Protestant literature and theology.
