eco-Volunteer @ Lake Kissimmee State Park
Even though this event is FREE, please click the "I WISH TO BUY A TICKET". Lake Kissimmee State Park is hosting its 1st Earth Day Celebration! At 9am Park Service Specialist Andi Henry will lead a guided hike on the 2.5 Mile Gobbler Ridge Trail that leads out to Lake Kissimmee. After the guided hike at 11am there will be a recycle relay race. This is a fun way to learn what is and is not recyclable, many people are surprised at what is not recyclable & the recycle centers spend sorting through it all. The race will begin with each participant picking a recyclable or non recyclable item out of the bin taking it through the obstacle course and at the end placing it in the correct recycling bin. The race will consist of two teams; the team with the best time and correct answers wins the challenge! Fees: Park admission applies $4.00 single occupant car $5.00 2 -8 persons in car. Family Friendly: Yes, we ask that minors are accompanied by an adult Special Skills: None Equipment Required: Please wear shoes and attire suitable for hiking and bring a refillable water bottle Park Contact: Andi Henry at 863-696-1112 or andrea.henry@dep.state.fl.us Park Location: 14248 Camp Mack Road, Lake Wales, Florida 33853 Park Information: http://www.floridastateparks.org/lakekissimmee/default.cfm
