Remembering the Songs: An evening of storytelling & song
Remembering the Songs will include a short film about the American Indian flute traditions of the American Southwest and Northwest, followed by live music and Q&A with Gary Stroutsos, W.K. Kellogg Foundation recipient.
When I played for the first time before an all Native American audience, one of the elders from the Salish tribe, Oshanee, broke down crying when I began playing my elf flute. I asked her what was wrong and she told me that "the music reminds me of days gone by and my relatives." -Gary Stroutsos
